The Pierce Group is a business advisory and accountancy firm based in Blackburn, Bolton and Manchester.

Pierce has been established for more than 95 years and, having built its reputation on solid foundations, has over the years successfully combined the best of tradition with the dynamics required to meet the challenges of the future.

Philip Fletcher Pierce founded the first office in Accrington in 1929 before becoming a two partner firm in 1947. The practice was one of the first to introduce the electronic adding machine during the fifties and in 1993 was the first to introduce a dedicated forensic department providing litigation support to solicitors.

In June 2004 the practice was incorporated into a Limited Company. The strong traditions set by Mr Pierce continue to be nurtured by the Firm.

A significant milestone came in March 2019 with a management buyout, marking the start of a new chapter for the business.

In June 2023, Pierce acquired Bolton-based DonnellyBentley Accountants bringing together a shared commitment to providing exceptional accountancy and business advisory services. Clients can expect the same high-quality support they have come to rely on, along with access to an even broader range of services, including tax planning, forensic accounting, business growth advice, and more.
